chalam: My concern it there is a history of people who claim to have sole divine revelation but turn out to be heretics, Charles Taze Russell, Joseph Smith etc. Anyhow, maybe I am missing something here and there are others who share your view?
Yes you are missing something. ALL people who claim to have sole divine revelation turn out to be heretics or nutters.
And get your wife to a doctor!

Are You a Fallen Angel?
by cameo-d indo you think we were created for the first time in these clay vessels made of earth elements?.
do you think we might have originated elsewhere and the god of this planet made these vessels for our visitation here?.
how the hell did we get sucked into coming here?

You do worry about a lot of imaginary stuff. Your life here is not a visitation. You were not brought here by space ship, stork, or a host of angels. You did not reincarnate or land with a meteorite; neither are you a sunbeam. Your mission is to find your mother. You weren't tricked, possibly she was.
How you got here is simple. Just like every human on the planet you were born of woman. Your father had a night, or perhaps a few moments of pleasure, and 9 months later you arrived. Wham-bam thank you mam. That is enough information for now. Didn't they teach you this at school?

Is THIS the best of all POSSIBLE worlds?
by Terry inis this the best of all possible worlds?.
if it isn't, wouldn't that be the best possible proof that a benevolent and all-powerful deity had nothing to do with creating it?.
if a loving and benevolent creator was going to create a world--why make one with a built-in self-destruct mechanism??.

OUTLAW: I wouldn’t want to drive a Car that God built
Toyota have apologized for the deaths caused by the failure of their creation. They have said they will do all they can to do better in future. No shifting of blame to the people that made faulty electrical components. No blaming the workers.
They take total responsibility for their creation. The blame goes to the top. They haven’t waited thousands of years to correct the error or had one of their manager’s sons tortured to death to square the sum. They are working on eliminating the flaws that caused the problems.
If imperfect humans can stand up and be counted why doesn't the god of the bible takes responsibility for the failure of Adam and Eve to function as they were created to and the suffering and death that has followed (according to the fall from grace and redemption theory)
Could it be that we were not designed but are evolving, slowly? There is no ultimate destination because the journey is the destination. No one is to blame. Life is the way it is and adapts as best as it can to the challenges that living on a sometimes hostile planet throws up.
All human energy should be invested in this endeavor. God the savior versus God the bogey man is a huge distraction to the job in hand – our job, our responsibility. Religion is for children – even the bible gets that bit right!
So with that thought in mind why do I waste time on this site?
The jury is still deliberating!

EverAStuden: This is becoming a silly discussion.
It always was but this is the most sensible thing you have yet said.
The ability to separate imagination from reality is the beginning of wisdom.

I was - a head-lock was the most common position, while I was thrashed.

Similarly, there is evidence, not proof, that Hell is the ongoing eternal abode of unbelievers.
I thought evidence was proof but then I am just a slave to Cesar.
I said this hell thing was complicated but having read your posts I realize that it is out of this world.
Hell of a good post though.

Yes, ultimately you stop living and the idea dies with you. Finito!

Hell exists and like Jesus is whatever you want it to be.
It can be literal, figurative, symbolic, a state of mind, a state of no mind or what you wish on people who won't agree with your faith, or lack of faith, in all the things you have chosen to believe in.
See how complicated it is?
To simplify things, traditionally hell is a hot place where people gasp for a drink - like a pub in summer with no beer.
